NAR Requirements
Fair Housing/Anti-Bias Training
REALTORS® are required to complete Fair Housing/ Anti-Bias Training upon becoming a member, and every 3 years thereafter, coinciding with the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics training timeline. This requirement is in addition to the Code of Ethics training. Qualified Fair Housing training must be no less than 2 hours of instructional time. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS. This requirement will begin January 1, 2025 with a deadline of December 31st, 2027.
Training may be completed through NAR’s online courses or through another method. The featured course options are approved and meet the specific learning objective and criteria established by the NAR.
Code of Ethics
NAR’s Code of Ethics Cycle coincides with the 3-year cycle for Fair Housing requirements. REALTORS® are required to complete a qualified ethics training for no less than 2 hours and 30 minutes of instructional time. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.
Training may be completed through NAR’s online courses or through another method, such as online or classroom courses via local/state associations. The featured course options are approved and meet the specific learning objectives and criteria established by the NAR.

MREC License Renewal Requirements
2025-2026 Fair Housing Core
Each Missouri Real Estate licensee who holds an active license shall complete during the two (2)-year license period prior to renewal a minimum of twelve (12) hours of real estate instruction approved for continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission.
At least three (3) of the twelve (12) hours of approved instruction shall be an approved Core CE course in FAIR HOUSING. The balance of the twelve (12) hours of instruction shall consist of courses which have been approved for either core or elective continuing education credit by the Missouri Real Estate Commission.
Members completing a 3-hour CORE Fair Housing CE course should submit a copy of their completion certificate to CBOR Staff in order to fulfill the NAR Fair Housing membership obligation. Additionally, members choosing to complete an Ethics course as part of their license renewal in Missouri should send a certificate of completion to CBOR Staff to satisfy the additional NAR COE membership obligation.
New Member Training
New members of The Columbia Board of REALTORS® must complete New Member Code of Ethics Orientation training within 30 days of joining the Columbia Board of REALTORS®. The National Association of REALTORS® requires members to complete Code of Ethics training every three-year cycle. However, Primary members of the Columbia Board of REALTORS® are required to complete Code of Ethics training every two-years while they maintain membership with CBOR.
Please plan on 2-3 hours for this online course. You will be able to save and go back to your training session, but you must complete the course within 30 (thirty) days of joining CBOR, or access to member services will be restricted.
