2008 GOLF TOURNAMENT PICTURES
The 2008 Golf Tournament started off at 7:00 AM with beautiful weather. The sun was shining, there was a light cool morning breeze, the grass was shining with morning dew, and the temperature was absolutely perfect. Teams began arriving one by one. After teams checked in, they had the opportunity to purchase mulligans and, a new opportunity for the CBOR tournament, string. Okay, okay, I know you are asking "String, what in the world"? The idea behind the string is that you have the opportunity to buy as much string as you wanted, and can cut off the amount of string needed to get your ball in the hole and not use another stroke. GENIOUS! Individuals were also able to purchase raffle tickets for 50/50, a golf bag, Royals tickets and a night's stay at the Drury Inn near Kauffmann Stadium, a golf goodie basket, a free round of golf at A.L. Gustin Golf Course, or a golf tool pack.
At 8:00 AM, the 13 teams were off for a great morning of golf. Teams were able to take their time, enjoy the course, and the special events that the Affiliate sponsors had available at their sponsored holes.
Around 11:30 AM, Smokin' Chicks Barbeque was available for players in the afternoon round, players from the morning round, and those who just wanted to enjoy a great lunch. Winners from the first round were announced and given their prizes.
Around 1:00 PM, the 17 teams in the afternoon round began the checking in process, and by 2:00 PM, they were out on the course.
By 7:00 PM, all the teams were in, and winners were awarded their prizes.
